The Reading Fire Department was organized in 1886, and serves this dynamic community located north of Cincinnati, between two major interstates - I75 and I71. Station 83 in downtown Reading is the primary station while Station 84 was opened in 1981 for the purpose of having fire equipment available on the other side of the "tracks" - Reading is divided by a major rail corridor.
